Chytra Rock
The cave with the luminous water! Across Kapsali bay, you can find Chytra, where the local flowers of life, Semprevivca grow. You can get to Chytra with glass bottom for which you should book your ticket a little earlier in Kapsali. It is an experience you do not want to miss as it is one of the most unique places on the island. During the trip you will enjoy a guided tour in the cave, diving and also a mini tour to a few hard to reach beaches of the island.

Green Lagoon
My personal favourite! You may be a little exhausted when you finally reach your destination but it is worth it. Located behind Limnionas Beach, this secret spot is hidden behind some dozens of rocks. Do not panic.. a huge effort has already been made in order for the path signs to be visible and clear..ok not exactly a path..more of a treasure hunt. The treasure is our natural pool in a shape of a heart. Enjoy!

Fonissas' Waterfall
When you reach Milopotamos village you have to follow the signs that lead you to the Waterfalls. Find a parking spot and in a 5' min walking distance you will be at your first stop. Depending on the time of the year you may be able to dive in the waterfall. If you decide to explore more you can walk towards the water mills. Be sure to take food and water supplies with you. P.S. I suggest you to wear sneakers!

Karavas Bakery
If you are wondering why the main photo of this slideshow shows a man instead of the bakery, for me it was an easy decision. It is one of those times when a unique person touches something ordinary and turns it into something unique. Pavlos decided to renovate the family bakery, to follow his heart, to innovate and to bake the most funky rusks that you have ever tasted! Personal favourites, carob rusks and barbecue as well.

Astikon
You can find a lot of different choices on the island to enjoy your drink or a branch. But for those who know, Astikon means vacation. It used to be a school, then it was renovated and turned into a traditional cafe and as the years go by it evolves as the needs of the island do. Numerous great artists have given beautiful performances there, through the past years. You have to try the homemade lemonade that Maria makes every summer and make us wait all year long because no other tastes so good!

Mirtidiotissa Monastery
I realise that we are not used to seeing a church on a must do summer list, but Mirtidiotissa is a lot more than this. The vibes of this monastery give goose bumps to every visitor. For me all the magic is created for the faceless image of the Virgin that you can see here. It is very rare for any religion & culture not to try to give a specific picture in something that has to do only with the personal faith of all of us.
Kytherian Castle
Last but not least, the castle of the island, located in Chora. On many of the Greek islands, castles are built in high areas in order to have a better visibility in case of an attack. The same goes for our own castle as well. It looks like came out of a fairy tail offering a spectacular view of Kapsali and Chytra and it is magical during the sunset. Please do not forget to wear flat shoes in order to be safe and stable! (Learned the hard way)
